The composition was published in Alexandre M. Raymond's celebrated work *L'Art Islamique en Orient* and records the intricate stone carving, geometric ornament, and Arabic inscriptions of the madrasa entrance, originally dating from 1251. The Karatay Madrasa was commissioned during the height of the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum and remains one of Konya's most important historic buildings. Raymond's meticulous rendering captures the extraordinary craftsmanship of the monument, from the interlacing geometric borders and Kufic inscriptions to the deeply carved muqarnas niche above the doorway. The architectural design reflects the sophisticated blend of mathematics, calligraphy, and decorative art that characterizes medieval Islamic architecture. Printed in subtle tones of pale grey, stone green, cream, and soft beige, the image possesses an elegant and restrained palette that makes it highly decorative while remaining historically accurate. The plate was intended both as a scholarly architectural record and as an inspiration for artists, architects, and designers interested in Islamic ornament. Today, original plates from *L'Art Islamique en Orient* are increasingly sought after by collectors of architectural prints, Islamic art, Ottoman and Seljuk decorative arts, and interior designers seeking authentic period material. The monumental scale and refined draughtsmanship make this print particularly attractive for framing and display. This is an original antique print, not a reproduction. Any framed images are shown for presentation and interior inspiration only. The print is sold unframed. Condition: Good antique condition with age-related toning, occasional light foxing, and minor handling wear. Horizontal center fold as issued. Please study the scan carefully. Framing tips: This print works beautifully in a dark walnut, ebonized, or lightly gilded frame with an ivory museum mat. The soft stone-grey and warm beige tones suit contemporary, Mediterranean, Ottoman-inspired, Islamic, and traditional interiors alike.
