The wide horizontal format takes in a sun-bleached limestone foreground scattered with macchia scrub, a low stone structure at centre, and a calm, island-dotted sea beyond. The palette is both bold and tranquil: saturated greens, deep Adriatic blues, and passages of lilac and cream in the sky, applied with confident, expressive brushwork that reads as plein air in sensibility if not in execution. In its format, colouring, and handling, the work sits comfortably within the tradition of mid-century Yugoslav and Central European coastal painting. Housed in a later white-painted wooden frame.
