A minimalist white opaline glass flush mount ceiling or wall light, Austria, 1960s–1970s. The shallow domed glass shade is mounted on a circular black metal base plate. These were used throughout modernist apartment buildings in postwar Austria from the 1960s onwards as well as in state-owned facilities, exuding calm, controlled utilitarian elegance.
Both modernist and extremely functional in style, wall- and ceiling lights such as these are industrial design classics especially in terms of proportion and material contrast. Suitable for ceiling or wall installation, effective used individually or as a pair; 4 available in total.
In very good condition with minor age-consistent wear to the base plate. They work well within a wide variety of interior styles due to their understated nature.
