This extraordinary studio ceramic mirror was created around 1970 in Germany and combines ceramic sculpture with functional design.
The frame consists of numerous individually crafted and differently glazed circular ceramic elements, arranged on ceramic backing plates and mounted on a wooden frame. The composition evokes organic structures, microscopic forms, or cosmic landscapes.
The ceramic discs possess their own distinct glaze effect, ranging from vibrant turquoise to white tones, transforming the frame into a complex ceramic sculpture assemblage.
Through its exceptional materiality, sculptural depth, and substantial weight, the object has a powerful sculptural presence.
