Beautiful pair of Spanish Renaissance Revival Savonarola chairs, crafted in solid wood and richly carved with scrolling vegetal motifs. The iconic X-frame silhouette, inspired by medieval and Renaissance curule chairs, gives the pair a sculptural presence and a strong architectural character.
Both the backrests and seats display hand-carved decoration, while the curved armrests and flowing profiles highlight the craftsmanship typical of early to mid-20th-century Spanish workshops. Solid and decorative, these chairs work beautifully as accent pieces in entryways, living rooms, offices or library spaces.
Pairs of carved Savonarola chairs are increasingly sought after, especially examples with such balanced proportions and matching details.
