A beautiful and detailed bronze sculpture of a kneeling Japanese warrior or samurai, dating from the second half of the 20th century; unsigned.
This is a high-quality, very heavy sculpture distinguished by its highly detailed finish. Crafted from patinated bronze, it is a true eye-catcher; the warrior exudes a sense of calm and serenity.
The samurai were the aristocratic warrior class of pre-industrial Japan. from the 12th to the late 19th century, they constituted a prestigious social group serving a feudal lord.
