Pair of italian wall sconces dating from the 1950s, characterized by a sculptural composition and a distinctive combination of materials and colors. Each fixture features a round blue lacquered metal wall plate supporting a slender brass arm with a pronounced arched profile and a curved decorative terminal. The two sconces are designed as a complementary mirrored pair, creating a balanced arrangement when installed together. Each brass structure holds a softly shaped opaline glass diffuser with an elongated, slightly tapered silhouette, secured by a red lacquered metal collar. The contrast between the aged brass, the blue and red lacquered surfaces, and the satin opaline glass reflects the decorative approach of italian mid-century lighting design. The brass elements display a natural patina with oxidation and tonal variations consistent with age. The lacquered metal parts show minor wear and small signs of use, in keeping with the vintage condition of the fixtures. Overall in good vintage condition. Vintage original fixtures. Wired, functional, and in working condition. Suitable for use in europe and the us with appropriate bulbs, but not certified to current ul or other contemporary national standards.
