The painting shows three drummers … Read more I painted Melodies From Our Soul to celebrate the beautiful music and traditions of Nigeria. The painting shows three drummers from behind, carrying traditional talking drums as they walk together. I used a very thick painting style with a palette knife to create strong strokes that make the scene feel full of life and energy.
I chose a bright blue background to make the white and blue clothes of the drummers stand out. The yellow ground and long shadows show a bright, sunny day full of music. This work is about the "melodies" that connect us to our history and our people. It celebrates the joy of sharing our culture through sound and rhythm.
