A beautifully proportioned American Colonial Revival bedroom suite dating from ~1925 crafted in richly figured light mahogany (or maybe maple) professionally refinished ~2000 in matte lacquer. The suite embodies the restrained elegance of Federal and Hepplewhite-inspired design, with graceful architectural forms, finely turned details, and carved decorative accents that reflect the exceptional cabinetmaking of the period.
The suite consists of a full-size bed, dresser with original tilting mirror, side table, side chair with hand-caned seat, and matching rocking chair. Each piece shares a cohesive design vocabulary, creating a harmonious bedroom ensemble rarely found intact after nearly a century. The set has been in my family since new. The chair has a label from The Wisconsin Chair Company.
The dresser features a beautifully arched mirror supported by fluted standards with turned finials and crowned by an intricately carved crest. Two upper drawers display carved eagle motifs, while the lower drawers offer generous storage beneath clean, elegant lines. Original brass pulls complement the refined design.
