Art Deco desk lamp—also known as a notary or banker's lamp—manufactured by the Belgian company Erpé (model no. 52). This industrial design piece dates from the 1920s or 1930s and bears markings on both the top and bottom.
This beautiful industrial Bauhaus-style lamp features a black cast-iron stepped base, a wrought-iron neck, and a Bakelite shade.
ERPE stands for *Établissements Ritzen & Penners* and was based in Brussels; the company was founded in 1914 by Leon Ritzen and Frans Penners. It is a timeless, iconic industrial Art Deco desk lamp.
It is in good vintage condition and perfect working order. There are no cracks or chips in the Bakelite shade, though there is some discoloration on the shade and some paint flaking on the wrought iron; nevertheless, the lamp looks fantastic. The push-button switch has been replaced, and there is a new screw on the side of the shade, but it retains its original plug and brass socket.
LED bulb not included.
