Beautiful oil painting on wood, depicting a seascape with boats moored on the shore and fishermen sleeping on the sand beneath the boats. Created and signed by the Neapolitan painter Domenico Chianese. On the back is the stamp of an art gallery that likely sold the work in the past, and a paperclip-attached label with some biographical information about the painter. Note the painter's distinctive color palette, all tending toward various shades of ochre or earthy tones, very warm, with a hint of yellow that deliberately "dirties" the entire work. His paintings all share more or less this flavor.

Useful information for appraising this item:
from our online searches, we found a painting by the same artist, offered by the Vincent auction house in Naples, online auction number 38 of 2012, therefore a rather old auction, lot 127, estimated at €300-500. We then found two more, very similar in color palette, one depicting a farmer with two horses and another depicting a seascape with boats, estimated at €500-900 each, lot number 35 and lot number 36 of 12/02/2015. Finally, we found another, offered by the De Francesco auction house in 2024, estimated at €300-400, depicting harvesters. This gives an idea of ​​the value of the works created by this Neapolitan painter.
