The Shogun is an iconic table lamp designed by the Swiss architect Mario Botta in 1986 for the prestigious Italian brand Artemide. The frame is made of lacquered metal, and the adjustable, painted metal shade is modelled on the hat worn by Japanese shoguns, from which it takes its name. It is extremely practical for directing the beam of light in the desired direction, for example to aid reading: the two perforated metal shades can be rotated and adjusted as desired along the horizontal axis.
