A traditional form of heavily embroidered and embellished textile art from Burma. Made of metallic threads and sequins, beads, and glass stones on background of cotton. Padded in certain areas to create a 3-D relief.

The art form emerged Mid-19th Century during the Konbaung Dynasty and became very popular during King Mindon Min's reign. Two horses represent loyalty, honor, happiness, and intelligence.

These pieces were framed at one point by a business in Kearney, Nebraska which shows the address and phone number. Through research, it seems that the business was long gone before any directories were updated and the building demolished.

The height of each piece is 18.5" x 17.75" with a depth of .75". See less
