Vintage Antique Chinese Carved Camphor Chest Featuring Guan Yin.
This early 20th century camphor chest has a high relief carving in wood featuring Guan Yin, The Goddess of Compassion with attendants- one of which is the Monkey King. It features etched brass original hardware and a rich patina.
The aromatic scent of camphor wood lingers with all sides telling a story through its carving of bamboo, birds, and deities. Wooden feet can unscrew making it easier to ship. Estimated to be from 1920s.
The condition of this chest is good with wear and tear.
