A striking vintage cast brass lidded box/ashtray featuring the iconic sculptural "Ultima" geometric design, offered in the style of Bo Ljungberg & Holger Backstrom for Beck & Jung. This substantial piece embodies the bold architectural forms and tactile surfaces that define Scandinavian Brutalist design of the 1960s.
The removable lid showcases a dramatic repeating stepped pattern that creates beautiful depth and shadow, while the hand-textured cast brass body adds warmth and visual interest from every angle. Originally designed as an ashtray, it makes an exceptional decorative object today and is equally suited as a jewelry box, catchall, desk accessory, or conversation piece.
It has a sculptural presence and rich brass patina. This has not been shined as I leave that decision to the buyer.
