This antique life-size figure of Christ on the cross originated from the Slavic Village Neighborhood congregation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dedicated in 1913.
The cross is made of 2 inch thick quarter saw oak and measures 158 inches tall and 84 inches across. The figure of Christ measures. 76 inches tall with an arm span of 72 inches. The figure of Christ is composed of carved wood covered with a thin layer of plaster and paint. Much of the paint is intact with only minor flaking and commiseration due to age. The figure of Christ from head to toe is one solid piece of wood with the arms interlocking to the figure at the shoulder. There are no brakes or repairs to the cross or the figure of Christ.
