A blueprint version of an interesting and decorative map of London in 1899. The firm of W & A.K Johnston, one of the major British map publishing houses of the nineteenth century, was founded in Edinburgh in 1826 by William Johnston and his brother Alexander Keith Johnston. Keith Johnston eventually became Geographer-Royal for Scotland, while William became Lord Provost of Edinburgh and was knighted.
This is a fine art giclée printed with archival inks on heavy, matte paper.
The small size is printed with Canon inks on heavier paper stock.
