An exceptionally scarce original black and white photograph depicting George Washington's reconstructed Gristmill at Mount Vernon during the early years following its 1933 reconstruction.

The image captures a fascinating moment in time, showing an attendant standing in the doorway while a prominent 10¢ admission sign welcomes visitors—an evocative glimpse into early American heritage tourism during the Great Depression era.
