Each sofa bench features an elegant spindle gallery back composed of slender turned dowels rising from a sweeping crest rail, flanked by open fretwork arms carved in an interlocking geometric key pattern. The benches are raised on a continuous apron with a carved molded edge detailing and squared legs terminating in hoof-like feet. The seats are topped with loose cushions in cream cotton set over box springs. The hardwood is finished in a warm and richly grained honey-brown tone, cleanly contrasting the light cushions. The wood has a desirable faded authentic patina on the finish as seen in photos. The versatile pair is well-suited for use in a variety of interiors. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
