Vintage octagonal designer coffee table made of Italian travertine; a high-quality design piece from the 1970s.
The tabletop rests loosely on the base, making it easy to move; it is a very heavy, high-quality coffee table. Travertine is back in vogue; this natural stone features soft, undulating colors and fits seamlessly into both modern and vintage interiors.
This highly durable natural stone is known for its color variations, as travertine is a limestone formed by the precipitation of calcium from supersaturated hot spring water. Twigs, leaves, and other materials falling into and decomposing in this water create the material's characteristic irregular pores.
The table is in near-perfect vintage condition, with only very minor signs of use—such as tiny marks along the edge. Given that this item is over 50 years old, it is remarkable that there are no cracks or breaks; please check the photos for more details.
