19th-century American Classical tester bed. Masterfully crafted from solid wood this statement piece showcases the incredible craftsmanship of the era. The bed features robust, beautifully turned posts transitioning into an elegant scalloped upper canopy frame (tester) with dovetailed construction. The headboard boasts striking book-matched panels under a substantial rolled top rail, flanked by beautifully balanced turned details. Adding to its unique character, the footboard features an integrated spindle gallery, giving the piece a lighter detailed silhouette.
Built to last generations, the bed utilizes traditional robust joinery secured with authentic brass bolt covers that add a touch of campaign-style elegance. A a great example of early American craftsmanship.
