Martin house in … Read more In 1904, frank lloyd wright designed the first version of the barrel chair for the darwin d. Martin house in buffalo, new york. A slightly modified version followed in 1937 for the herbert johnson house (wingspread) in wind point, wisconsin.

after the chair had long been out of production, cassina began producing a faithful re-edition of the barrel chair (model 606) in the 1980s as part of its “i maestri collection,” from which the set of four offered here also originates.

the chairs, crafted from cherry wood with dark green leather upholstery, are in very fine original condition with subtle age-related signs of wear. This piece has an attribution mark,
