An evocative abstract landscape inspired by the interplay of water, light, and reflection. Vertical passages of violet, indigo, charcoal, and silver descend through the composition, mirrored across a luminous horizontal band of green and gold. The painting balances abstraction and representation, suggesting a distant shoreline reflected across still water while allowing the viewer space for personal interpretation.
Rich layers of color and expressive mark-making create movement and depth, while the mirrored composition evokes tranquility and contemplation. The work reflects Varadi's continuing exploration of landscape through abstraction and her interest in the emotional qualities of place and atmosphere.

Kathleen Varadi is a contemporary painter whose work explores landscape, atmosphere, and the evolving concept of the sublime in contemporary life. She earned her B.F.A. in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design and pursued graduate studies as an M.F.A. candidate at Georgia Southern University. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including exhibitions at Telfair Museums, Savannah Hilton Head International Airport Gallery, the New York Academy of Art Summer Residency Program, LaGrange Art Museum, and numerous juried exhibitions throughout the United States. Varadi's paintings are held in private collections and have received recognition from organizations including SECAC, the Boynes Emerging Artist Award, and the Clayton Art Faire.
