Jones Stationery & Printing Company of Chicago, one of America’s leading producers of commercial office furnishings at the turn of the twentieth century.

Crafted in richly toned mahogany, this architectural cabinet features a deeply molded cornice, carved pilasters with star motifs, decorative side carvings, and an unusual tambour-style upper section above a pair of glazed doors. The proportions suggest its original use as a document, filing, ledger, newspaper drying or display cabinet for a professional office, library, or commercial setting.

The cabinet retains its original manufacturer’s plaque identifying J.M.W. Jones of Chicago. The interior offers a generous display or storage space and would make a striking bookcase, bar cabinet, collectible display cabinet, or office storage piece.

Its blend of Victorian ornament and early Arts & Crafts simplicity allows it to work equally well in traditional interiors, libraries, studies, and eclectic modern spaces.
