Vintage Mid-Century Modern Cityscape Oil Painting by James Roberts. A beautiful, authentic mid-century modern oil painting depicting a dramatic, stylized European canal cityscape. This piece features a striking abstract architectural design reminiscent of the 1960s expressionist style, complete with bridges, historical buildings, and a gondola on the water. This subject size is perfect for over a sofa.

The Origin Behind the Name Decorative Production Houses: During the 1950s through the 1970s, high-volume art studios employed assembly lines of nameless, skilled trade artists. They hand-painted canvases explicitly for Western department stores, home decor retailers, and furniture showrooms.
