Up for sale is an exceptional, authentic 1990s original large-scale metal wire wall sculpture titled "Jazz Club" by renowned American contemporary artist Barrett DeBusk.Expertly hand-crafted from cold-rolled steel rods and finished in his signature matte black powder coating, this iconic graphic line-art piece features a whimsical, high-energy narrative scene of a lively jazz band performing in a smoky venue. It perfectly captures the essence of late 20th-century postmodernism with a nod to classic mid-century minimalist design.
DeBusk’s sculptures are celebrated for their clever three-dimensional layout. The piece features integrated rear metal spacers that cause the artwork to "float" roughly 1.5 to 2 inches off the wall. When cast under direct gallery lighting or warm spotlights, the sculpture projects a dramatic, moving shadow effect onto the wall behind it, effectively doubling the visual depth and size of the artwork. It makes an incredible, sophisticated focal point for a living room, media room, home bar, or dining area.
Barrett DeBusk (b. 1955) has been creating his celebrated narrative steel sculptures out of his Texas studio for over three decades. His unique approach—essentially "drawing with steel"—gained rapid critical acclaim in the late 1980s and 1990s. Today, his distinct works are highly collectible and can be found in upscale hospitality spaces, prominent Hollywood film and television sets, and the permanent White House collection.
