This lamp represents the pinnacle of Tynell’s characteristic soft, functional aesthetics utilizing natural materials. The lamp’s body and suspension rod are crafted from patinated brass, and its underside is adorned with a sophisticated, hand-finished brass wire decoration.
The glass diffuser on the lower side of the lamp features a delicate, hand-painted floral decoration executed at the Kauklahti glassworks by the renowned ceramist and designer Kyllikki Salmenhaara. When illuminated, the painting comes to life, filtering the light into the space in an extremely soft and atmospheric way. The wide, round rim of the lamp is enveloped by a beautiful and vibrant natural material shade, which brings the warmth and organic texture typical of the 1940s and 1950s to the ensemble.
