A superb complete ceramic coffee service from vallauris (french riviera), dating from the 1940s-1950s, stamped 'p.p.p. Vallauris france h.44' under each piece – a guarantee of authenticity and provenance.
the set comprises a coffee pot with its lid (21 cm high), a sugar bowl with lid, a creamer, and six cups with saucers, for a total of 15 pieces, presented in a remarkably harmonious color scheme.
the design is distinctly art deco: raised square bases, strong angular lines, and geometric handles lend this set a restrained and structured elegance, typical of vallauris production from this period.
the flambé glaze is the true jewel of this service: an intense and deep cobalt blue dominates, enhanced by brown and chocolate tones, delicate white lace-like drips, and touches of ochre yellow. Each piece is unique, the result of the unpredictable magic of kiln firing – an incomparable handcrafted character.
very good overall condition: glossy glazes, harmonious and consistent color scheme across all pieces.
a rare collector's item, combining the art of fine dining with the ceramic heritage of southern france. Ideal for lovers of french folk art, provençal ceramics, and art deco design.
