The popular Art Deco pattern features a framed floral crest at the tip and tapered flowing lines down the handle. (This pattern is also referred to as “Hampton Court” in Canada and Great Britain.) This pattern was introduced in 1936 to commemorate the planned 1937 coronation of King Edward VIII. The pattern became one of Oneida’s most popular, and remained in production for 68 years (retired in 2004).

The set also comes with its original fitted lucite anti-tarnish storage case created in an Art Deco revival style with peach/apricot interior, burgundy exterior, and lucite feet (which were clear when originally produced).

Condition: The silverware pieces are in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of use consistent with age. (Please see photos for more detail.) The pieces have been wiped with a soft cloth, but have not been professionally cleaned or polished. They are hallmarked with the Oneida “Community” mark, and the knife blades are marked “Stainless Steel.” The plastic/lucite storage chest is good working order, but does show signs of use on both the inside and outside – and two of the legs seem to have been re-attached at some point. The inside of the chest is marked “Community, The Finest Silverplate.” See less
