This is certainly true for this table lamp from the 1950s. The base consists of an organically shaped foot of black lacquered metal with brass accents. from the base, a slender brass arm runs upwards to the adjustable lampshade. Due to the open construction, the arm appears to float freely above the base, a detail that gives the design its airy appearance. The frosted glass shade forms the most important visual element. The glass features a subtle relief of short, evenly distributed lines applied around the surface. Whether switched off or lit, this creates a beautiful play of light and shadow. In combination with a warm LED bulb, a soft, even light distribution is created that is perfectly suited for a bedside table, bookcase, or small desk. The original switch is located in the base. Thanks to the brass hinge, the shade can easily be adjusted as desired. We have carefully polished the brass, checked the mechanism, and fitted the lamp with a new cord. The glass shade has a minor imperfection on the inside that is barely visible during use. Otherwise, the lamp is in neat vintage condition and is ready for immediate use. A refined design in which the use of materials, proportions, and detailing are beautifully balanced.
