In this Scandinavian chest of drawers from the 1960s, the warm teak is supported by a slender frame of black lacquered beech. The angled, almost hook-shaped legs give the piece a distinctive silhouette and create a beautiful contrast with the rich grain of the teak. The visible brass connections reinforce this interplay of materials without disturbing the tranquility of the design. The drawer appears to hang between the frame and is opened with the original brass knob. Inside, the drawer is finished with dark blue felt, a detail that is not immediately noticeable but adds an extra touch of sophistication to the piece. Beneath the drawer is an open shelf that offers space for books, magazines, or a few favorite objects. from every angle, the interplay of lines changes subtly. As a result, the piece appears light and refined, while simultaneously possessing enough presence to claim a place of its own in the interior. The cabinet has been carefully restored in our workshop. The teak veneer has been stripped of old maintenance products and sanded by hand. Finally, the wood has been treated with a matte furniture oil, making the warm color and vibrant grain fully visible again. The brass has been refreshed and the frame refinished.
