It is made … Read more Poudre Collection is a round mirror, table, or wall decorated on the back with a geometric design. It is made with the scagliola technique, an ancient inlay technique that was created between the end of the 16th century and the early 17th century to imitate marble and hard stones with a mixture of gypsum, natural glues, and colored pigments. The mirror rests on a custom-made marble base. The forms are simple and intuitive. It is a limited edition product made by artisans who are experts in this ancient technique. Poudre Collection ('powder' in French) is inspired by the pastel shades of the traditional compact powder bases which were very popular in the 1940s. Poudre also means 'dust', a clear reference to the artistic scagliola technique that uses selenite powder. The mirror has two sides: there is mirrored glass on one side and the other side is a decorative object. These two functions can be carried out both on the table and on the wall. Each handcrafted product is considered a unique piece because of the base and the multicolored decoration. Since the base is made of marble, the natural material may be slightly different from the product in the picture. See less
