The Abbeville Press edition (1985) of the Roseate Spoonbill (Plate 321) facsimile is a world-class reproduction of John James Audubon’s masterpiece, matching the exact Double Elephant Folio scale of the 1830s original artwork.
Taken from The Birds of America book by John James Audubon. The massive dimensions of 39.5" x 26.5" allow the Roseate Spoonbill to be viewed at its actual, true-to-life size.
The "Audubon Curve" because the spoonbill is a tall wading bird, Audubon forced it into a dramatic, low-bowing posture so its entire body could fit onto the paper without shrinking the scale.
