I am unsure of the period but it has a wonderful retro look. I just professionally re-upholstered it so it has not been used or in an unknown home. I have had it in my no -smoking environment for about two months. The wood is light, likely white oak, but I am unsure. The fabric I chose is available at upholstery suppliers online in case you need more. Very stylish chair! Please message me with any questions! Thanks! less
