The case is structurally anchored by distinctive, outward-flared French feet which flank a beautifully scalloped and valanced lower apron. Its front façade is dominated by four full-width graduated storage drawers that progressively deepen toward the base, each boasting precise hand-dovetailed joinery and detailed with traditional individual brass keyhole escutcheons and classic oval brass bail pull handles. Along the top edges of the main casing, robust hand-cut dovetails are proudly exposed, showcasing the authentic, high-quality craftsmanship of the period. Above the drawer stacks, the sharply angled hinged slant lid features a simple, circular brass peekaboo keyhole cover and drops forward onto wooden lower supports to reveal a highly symmetrical interior writing gallery. This organized workspace features a central inlaid tabernacle door flanked by twelve small document drawers arranged in balanced columns, all fitted with tiny delicate pull knobs, sitting directly above a deep open letter well.
