Authentic ceramic pitcher vase signed Jean de Lespinasse (JdL), a renowned ceramist from the French Riviera (Vallauris period).
Magnificent stylized floral motif hand-painted in shades of blue-gray, green, and ochre yellow on a slightly speckled beige glazed background. A graphic border adorns the neck and shoulder of the vase.
The glaze and colors are superb and highly glossy. Note a small, discreet chip (a small chip in the glaze) on the upper edge of the neck (see the dedicated zoomed-in photo). The rest of the piece is in very good vintage condition, without any cracks. Ideal for collectors of 1950s, 60s, and 70s ceramics, enthusiasts of the Vallauris school, or for adding a unique vintage Provençal decorative touch. This piece has an attribution mark,
