A Scandinavian sideboard from the 1960s, manufactured in Norway by P.S. Heggen Trevarefabrikk. This model is attributed to the design of Nils Jonsson, one of the most recognizable Scandinavian designers of post-war modernism. The distinctive layout with two sliding doors and a central set of drawers is typical of his functional designs from this period.
The piece is made of teak, a material particularly valued in mid-20th-century Scandinavian design for its durability, stability, and naturally warm colors. The delicately grained surface emphasizes the simple, architectural form, while the slender legs lend a visual lightness to the structure. The sliding doors are locked with a key that is included.
The piece has been professionally and carefully restored by removing old coatings, staining and finishing with varnish. The restoration was carried out by a talented and experienced carpenter with over 20 years of experience. Thanks to these treatments, the sideboard looks stunning and will serve its new owner for many years without fear of damage or wear from everyday use.
The Sideboard represents the Scandinavian Modern style, which combines minimalist design with high-quality craftsmanship. The design is devoid of unnecessary decoration – its character is built on proportions, carefully crafted details, and the refinement of the material. Sliding doors allow for convenient use even in smaller spaces, and a set of spacious drawers and shelves makes the piece equally at home in a living room, dining room, office, or commercial space.
This is an example of Scandinavian design, where aesthetics stem directly from function. Despite the passage of more than half a century, the form remains relevant and easily blends with both vintage interiors and contemporary arrangements. This piece has an attribution mark,
