Although we are serious dog lovers, we typically would not purchase one of these common large white Whippet sculptures. As a rule of thumb, they made thousands of these and 99% are very light in weight and not wonderfully executed. This Italian made Whippet Sculpture is a horse of a different color, for it is extremely heavy and wonderfully executed.
The Whippet Dogs were first bred in Great Britain and closely resembles the Greyhound. During the 1800’s the Whippets were called "the poor man's racehorse”. Today the Whippets are more commonly kept as a companion dog and they have incredible speed. Whippets are known for their gentle, affectionate, and calm temperament. Interesting side note, the last two large Whippets we had, both were shipped to England. Please note some prior repairs.
