Nice patina, a few signs of age and use. About the designer: "Gordon Russell (1892 - 1980) was born in London. As a teenager he was inspired by the arts and crafts movement when he moved with his family to Broadway in the Cotswolds in 1904. After serving as an Officer in the First World War, he went on to establish himself as one of the most successful British furniture designers of the twentieth century. The company bearing his name came to be highly respected and regarded as a symbol of great quality. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
