Six deep drawers flanking the kneehole retain their original wooden runners and hand-forged brass escutcheons, while the substantial top bears the rich patina of decades spent beneath ledgers and correspondence. Raised panel construction throughout reflects the exacting standards of provincial cabinetmakers who built furniture to last through the generations.
