FRACTURE

Through a controlled, non-coaxial milling process, the marble cylinder is intentionally weakened: internal tension generated during milling leads to the creation of a spontaneous, yet intentional, fracture, which becomes an integral part of the object's identity. The break is not a defect, but a turning point. The cork acts as a "repairing" material: it penetrates the fracture, contains it, and establishes a dialogue between it. It does not hide the damage; rather, it enhances it as a trace of a process, a memory of the material.
