Giuseppe Benassai Pair of Busts 1834 Livorno made of alabaster depicting two noble busts, signed and dated. Elegant pair of Italian figurative sculptures in carved alabaster from 1834, a pair of Tuscan busts depicting two figures in neoclassical style, middle-aged nobles in nineteenth-century clothing, a figure of a woman in an evening dress with a deep neckline and an elaborate hairstyle with curls and an elegantly dressed male figure, with a bow tie, of Tuscan origin, specifically from Livorno. The two figures are finely carved: he with curly hair and pronounced sideburns, dressed in a jacket and overcoat, has small restorations on the right nostril of the nose and on the lower part of the overcoat as well as the loss of part of the bow tie. The lady wears a dress with a generous décolleté and an elaborate hairstyle; It also has a small loss near the right earring and restorations on the front right corner of the base and on some curls of the hairstyle.
Dated and signed on the back with the engraving Giuse (G.) Benajsai made 1834 Livorno, probably a relative of the artist Giuseppe Benassai of the same name but born in Reggio Calabria on July 29, 1835, therefore a year after the busts were executed. This piece has an attribution mark,
