An exceptional mid-century modern credenza designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar.
This beautifully proportioned cabinet features Wormley's iconic sculptural tambour-style sliding doors flanking a bank of four dovetailed drawers with integrated recessed pulls. Behind the sliding doors are adjustable storage shelves, creating a highly functional layout suitable for use as a credenza, sideboard, media cabinet, or statement storage piece.
The cabinet retains its original Dunbar brass label and original painted metal plinth base, details often missing on surviving examples. The warm wood grain displays beautiful figure throughout, while the distinctive ribbed sliding doors provide the sophisticated architectural character that made Wormley one of the most celebrated American furniture designers of the twentieth century.
Construction quality is outstanding, with solid hardwood dovetailed drawer boxes, smooth operating drawers, and excellent craftsmanship throughout.
