An exceptional French Art Deco table lamp, made around 1925, the result of the celebrated collaboration between Edgar Brandt and Daum Nancy, two of the most important names in French decorative arts during the first third of the 20th century.
The piece masterfully combines Edgar Brandt's extraordinary wrought ironwork with Daum Nancy's refined glass production, resulting in a composition of great artistic richness where metal and glass converse in perfect harmony.
The base is crafted from wrought and chiseled iron in Brandt's characteristic naturalistic style. Its openwork structure comprises an intricate succession of stems, leaves, and roses modeled in relief, demonstrating the extraordinary technical skill that made the artist one of the leading exponents of French decorative ironwork during the Art Deco period. The original patina, gently aged by time, enhances the sculptural character of the piece.
The original Daum Nancy shade features elegant engraved decoration with stylized floral motifs and ornamental spirals. Its iridescent surface displays a rich chromatic range that oscillates between amber, orange, and delicate pink hues, creating a particularly attractive visual transition. When illuminated, the glass generates a warm and enveloping light; when unlit, the lamp maintains a strong decorative presence thanks to the artistic quality of its materials and finishes.
The collaborations between Edgar Brandt and Daum Nancy are among the most highly regarded examples of French Art Deco lighting. The preservation of both the original wrought iron structure and the original Daum Nancy shade makes this piece especially interesting for collectors and lovers of 20th-century French decorative arts.
Its balanced and elegant silhouette allows it to be integrated into both classic and contemporary interiors, standing out as a sculptural object as well as a functional lighting element.
