This magnificent landscape features an illegible signature in the lower right corner. There are additional inscriptions on the back of the canvas.

The painter depicts a splendid naturalistic scene in early autumn or late summer; the inscriptions on the back suggest a glimpse of the River Avon. A placid stream flows between grassy banks and thick reeds. Two white swans swim near the left bank. Large, leafy trees with shades of green and brown dominate the center and background. Dense marsh vegetation and reeds grow in the lower right corner in the foreground. The landscape is complemented by a sky with clear, luminous shades of blue and white, suggesting a partly cloudy day.
