Antique faux bamboo mirror with original mirror plate and wooden back, entirely in Chinoiserie style; this style was very popular during the Art Nouveau period. Originating from France, this example dates from around the end of the 19th century.
This beautiful wooden frame has been carved and worked to resemble real bamboo, hence the name faux bamboo. This piece bears a beautiful weathered patina of age. The mirror glass is weathered and heavily tarnished, which is highly sought after by collectors and is common in very old mirrors.
In good antique condition, this piece shows signs of age and use consistent with its age. Check the photos for more details!
