19th-century terracotta sculpture of a seated cat. Montelupo Fiorentino (Tuscany). This artistic sculpture features an extremely realistic pose of the cat with its head slightly tilted upward. The style focuses on the cat's anatomical form and its steady, attentive posture. Note the natural reddish color typical of fired clay. This sculpture is entirely hand-sculpted without the use of molds or templates; it is one of a kind. Items of this type were used as interior and exterior furnishings.
