This exquisite 19th-century Khotan rug originates from Eastern Turkestan, a historic crossroads of Silk Road artistry. Showcasing a striking allover pattern of large geometric medallions—often referred to as "Gols" or floral motifs—this piece is set against a rich red field that enhances its visual depth and warmth. Intricate ivory silk highlights and delicately rendered florets add refined contrast and texture throughout the design.
The rug is beautifully framed by a wide lavender and pale yellow border, adorned with finely woven floral and geometric elements in coordinating tones of red and yellow.
