The glazed parts that are predominantly just off-white are lustrous and satiny; the spotted brown segments lend visual and tactile interest to the piece. In good overall condition. Maker's mark appears on the body of the pitcher which is their trademark small owl. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying this listing. Upon request a video will be provided. About the Artists: Jeanne (1917-1988) and Norbert (1919-1979) Pierlot, started their pottery in the 1950s in Ratilly, in the central part of France. Although utilitarian pieces were the focus from the start, their experience and creativity ultimately drove their works towards more abstraction, particularly those of Norbert, in the latter period of his life. Pot-shaped works were off-centre, distorted, without ornamentation and thus registering as full-fledged sculptures. Their maker's mark is a small owl, usually, but not always on the base.
