Solid oak commode with three drawers, louis xiii style, 18th century.
the silhouette is simple and sturdy, characteristic of the louis xiii style. The drawer fronts are adorned with molded cartouches in relief, arranged in three horizontal registers. The side panels feature molded arch decoration. The piece rests on four turned ball feet, typical of the style. The brass handles with floral rosettes are later additions, as confirmed by the seller.
the back is constructed traditionally, using rough-sawn planks joined with antique forged nails. The drawer interiors reveal wide dovetail joints and signs of age. The visible parts have a beautiful antique patina.
